I’m really pleased to announce that my photo art blocks were accepted into the August 2012 New York International Gift Fair SustainAbility display. What does that mean? Well, this curated display in the Javits Convention Center includes only the most “green” items made with extreme attention to environmental consciousness. My handmade art blocks (made from reclaimed wood and salvaged vintage book pages otherwise bound for the landfill) featuring my non-VOC art prints, sealed with non-toxic, water-based adhesives, happily passed the strict criteria selection. In the process, I realized that this is truly cradle-to-grave sustainable artwork: these art blocks can be safely composted…but, of course, I hope that never happens : )
This is one of the blocks I’ll be contributing…can’t wait to see them in the final display with the rest of these fantastic companies!
If you are planning to attend the show, please do come visit the mkc photography (#5234) in the New York’s Newest section.
