Balloons At Sea

It was a lovely morning on the coast of Santa Marinella in late September. The brilliant turquoise water of the Tyrrhenian Sea crashed softly onto the black rocks along the coastline, and the sun began to cut through the morning clouds and usher them away. We walked along the water, listening to our children laugh and watching them chase one another as we made our way to the sandy portion of the coast. We had no agenda, no plans for the day, other than to put our feet into the beautiful, cool blue water, relax on the sparkling sand, and find some delicious food to eat. Later, we would would enjoy chilled red wine and apperitivi while the sea breeze cooled us and the sun retreated for the evening. If you ask me to describe what I think Heaven looks like, I’ll tell you this: Santa Marinella in late September.
