This year, I actually photographed my children’s faces. Shocking, I know. Last year, it was their hands holding stars. Everyone loved that. Except, of course, my grandmother.

“Where are their faces? Why can’t I see their faces?”

“What, are your children trolls? People will think you have ugly children if you keep sending out pictures of their hands.”

“Everyone else sends me nice photographs of my grandchildren. But from you, I get hands.”

*sigh*

This year, I told the boys I needed some faces, because I wasn’t going to spend another 364 days hearing these comments. I told them, under no circumstances, do we want ANY hands in this shot, and they laughingly obliged.

Wishing you and yours a joyful Christmas and a new year filled with joy, laughter, and happy family members who don’t harass you about your holiday photographs.

See you in 2012!
